I’m breaking my BIAB rules for myself right now by lying in bed and typing this on my phone. Ugh. I’m just so tired.

I’m breaking the rules of my gender. I got what someone called a radical haircut. My eyes are drawn to where the deep side part meets the fade, and the little grey streak on the curve. This way, it looks distinguished.

I broke the rules by making friends in departments where my colleagues don’t know most people. I need friends to help me do my job, and I like learning about people’s lives.

I don’t brush my teeth every night.

I didn’t take my food home even though the waitress was insulted.

I moved across the country.

I don’t have a baby.

I said that thing in the meeting.

I told the truth about my feelings.
