The prompt for this final day is "Revelation." It's a grand word. I suspect, however, that we all have little revelations all the time. I hope that this 40-day exercise has produced a few small personal revelations for you.
The first time I did this exercise for myself, my primary revelation was about my writing process itself and how to bust past the self-editing that was keeping me from writing freely. When I decided spur-of-the-moment to offer 40 Days & 40 Writes to others on Facebook last June, the second revelation was that anyone was interested in it at all. Each iteration delivers additional revelations: how other people experienced this exercise, how it served as a tool for non-writing things, how different people are motivated, how to refine it further.
I'm grateful to all of you, like your predecessor flocks, for playing along and sharing your time and your writing with me and with one another. Your comments on individual prompts will be a big help as I set up the program for the next group of writers.
I'm going to let you have your own revelations today, and tomorrow I'll be back to reveal a little more about what you've been up to, and a few other things you can do to help me take 40 Days & 40 Writes to the next level.
Onward and upward!
