I love the smell of fresh morning air, the stillness of time and the quiet of nature. Since I was a little kid I would get up very early eat breakfast then get on my bike. Although we lived in the city I would still find silence. I would ride thru the empty streets loving the stillness of the giant trees to the top of the hill and watch the sun rise. Even as an adult living in a high rise downtown I would marvel at the beautiful blue sky thru the window of my bedroom. Listening to the hum of the freeway pretending to hear ocean waves. Now that I live in a more residential neighborhood I can sit in my back yard and take in everything. Like this morning before day break I sit to take in the beauitful Harvest Moon. The glow of an orange yellow moon against the heavy blue sky and the white clouds beckoned me back to a December winter morning in Sedona. My thoughts of how beauitful, powerful and peaceful mother nature can be. Understanding my place within her structure is small allowing me to have a bigger picture of myself with all things.
